SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK:     August 08, 1999

1942 International Firetruck

North Shore Cruisers

Street dance in Lower Plaza at Yvette's Bar & Grill

The 1942 International firetruck was donated to the City of Elliot
Lake by Rio Algom in 1977.

There is a campaign underway to restore the antique fire engine
that is used for parades and children's rides.  The restortion is a
joint venture between the Elliot Lake Fire Department, the North
Shore Cruisers, and the Kinsmen Club.

To raise the funds required a number of fund-raisers are planned.
The first one took place August 7, 1999 in the Lower Plaza.
There was a full day of activities starting with a giant flea market.
The Family Fun Day had games and activities for everyone and
the evening ended with a street dance at Yvette's Bar & Grill.
A good time was had by all!
