MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Institute is open to retirees (and those who consider
themselves retired) who are fifty years of age and older. Annual
membership fee is $15.00 and the membership year is from September
1st to August 31st. Membership may be paid at the time of program
registration but membership is a requirement to taking part in any of the
programs.
REGISTRATION
Most of our programs are 2 h
ours per week and 12 weeks in duration
and the fee is only $18.00 per program, per semester. Short programs
or "Workshops" may be offered at a fee of $1.50 per hour. Fees are
payable upon registration. Where classes are limited, the principle of
"first come"
will be respected. Registration may be done at our Open
House held in the Algoma Room of the Algo Inn before the start of each
semester or at the post-registration booth at the Algo Mall. Registration
may also be done in class providing the program is not full. Unless
otherwise noted, classes will commence the week after the Open House.
LUNCHEONS
Our luncheon
meetings have served as the social side of our activities
since we first
started. The 3 luncheons this semester will be held on the
first Wednesday of October, November and December. These luncheons
include special programs, usually a guest speaker. The luncheon tickets
must be purchased in advance on or before the Friday preceding the
luncheon. Tickets will be available at a table in the Algo Mall on the
Friday
preceding the luncheon and also from the secretary in the office of Roman
Avenue school. Ticket price does not include gratuity.
