The Fire Tower Lookout Located just on the outskirts of Elliot Lake, the Fire Tower Lookout is a replica of an old-fashioned fire ranger's lookout station. The view from it is a 360 degree panoramic view of Elliot Lake and the surrounding areas, including the North Channel of Lake Huron, Manitoulin Island and even the U.S. From this Fire Tower, one thousand feet above sea level, one can truly appreciate the beauty of the area. There is a telescope to get an even better view and the second floor of the Tower has guide signs which point out locations of interest, and there is a telescope Located to the right of the Fire Tower is the Cupola Gazebo, and there is also a picnic area and play ground beside the Tower. A hiking trail leads back to town. |
